Description: The Early Career and Diversity Recruitment Leader will be responsible for leading a team of recruiters to implement a strategy in partnership with key business and HR leaders across the globe for both Early Career and Diversity Hiring. The Lead will be responsible for supporting the recruitment activity of university graduates to meet business needs as well as for maintaining brand and image on the targeted university campuses. They will be accountable for partnering with key business and HR leaders to challenge and build upon the current paradigm for early career hiring. The Lead will educate managers and campus recruiting representatives (alumni, recent hires) on recruitment and selection best practices. The Lead will also be responsible for building and maintaining a robust diversity recruiting strategy. The strategy will encompass all lines of businesses at all levels. The strategy needs to be thoughtful and well defined given the companies complex and matrixed environment. Successful overall execution and implementation will be critical. The Lead will serve as the Diversity Hiring subject matter expert on the Talent Acquisition team and will develop, implement and manage diversity recruiting program and initiatives to improve overall diversity of our workforce. This includes building comprehensive sourcing and recruiting strategies focused on diversity. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of recruiters to implement a strategy in partnership with key business leaders and HR leaders for Cigna.
  • Supporting the recruitment activity of university graduates to meet business needs as well as for maintaining Cigna's brand and image on the targeted university campuses.
  • With the significant demographic workforce shift Cigna will face in the next ten years, this role will be accountable for partnering with key business and HR leaders to challenge and change Cigna's current paradigm for early career hiring.
  • Level of comfort educating managers and campus recruiting representatives (alumni, recent hires) on recruitment and selection best practices.
  • Through strategic workforce planning, work closely with the Business/ Division Leader and their key manager's enterprise-wide to assess workforce demographic shifts and capability gaps in short term and long term Early Career and Diversity hiring
  • Continue to build and redefine a robust, global early career hiring strategy for Cigna designed to significantly increase early career and diversity hiring.
  • Build a best-in-class, global internship program for Cigna and leverage internship programs as primary pipeline source for full-time early career hiring.
  • Evaluate and select the best universities to build long term relationships with by ensuring they are aligned to Cigna's strategy and our Integrated Talent Management Strategy.
  • Expand global footprint of Cigna's target schools.
  • Partner closely with Cigna's Diversity Office to develop integrated/coordinated approach for participation with on campus and diversity recruiting events and career fairs and overall diverse hiring strategy.

  • An undergraduate degree and an MBA or Master's Degree in a related field is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience managing and developing teams of recruiters is required
  • High level of proficiency working through a matrixed environment
  • A minimum of 10 years related experience with proven success leading human resource organizations that are recognized for best practices for strengths in talent acquisition/staffing and organizational change in a high growth environment
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex, organizational changes
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently delivery customer focused, bottom line-oriented human resource/recruiting solutions as a member of the Talent Acquisition's senior team.
  • Cognitive agility; be able to strike the appropriate balance between speed, flexibility, and process/compliance to meet the business needs, and should bring knowledge of human resources best practices across various industries that include technology, industrial, consumer, etc.
  • Significant business knowledge with the ability to understand, discuss and work with leaders on their business strategy and human capital implication
  • Credibility as a trusted advisor and confidant to senior leadership
  • Experience leading organizations through change management
  • Strong business acumen, project management skills, successful teaming with colleagues, and a strong results orientation
  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals
  • Capable of quantitative analysis, with a proven ability to work with numbers and financial data and leverage that data to build a robust, go forward strategy
  • Must possess a high degree of intelligence, self-confidence, and charisma to function effectively as a consultant and counselor to the senior leadership team
  • Strong influencing skills and a balanced base of both strategic and tactical HR experience
  • Large capacity for work; high work ethic
