Position Summary:

Represents the Business Unit with respect to promotion, sales, and service of a product line to a variety of customers within a defined area and follows up to insure successful results

Essential Job Functions

? Expand scope of customer executive level contact that can influence our overall account objective and provide downward internal support in their organization to assist in our selling effort.
? Present to customers in the most pleasing and persuasive manner the latest aspects of our product line, services, and policies.
? Investigate and take the necessary steps to resolve all customer problems, criticisms, and complaints.
? Acquire and transmit all possible significant information regarding latest competitor activities and developments in the total packaging industry.
? Maintain a constant search for new sales opportunities that are in concert with specific plant operational needs and developing technologies utilizing every practical source.
? Make maximum use of all available selling aids and tools offered by the Sales and Marketing department and other business units.
? Plan all aspects of the work in advance in a manner calculated to produce maximum possible efficiency.
? Resolve account service and quality issues through appropriate coordination with Technical Service, Customer Service and Manufacturing plus other departments as necessary.
? Work closely with the Inside Sales Correspondents to insure maximum communications on customer needs and issues in order to achieve the best possible customer relations.
? Maintain thorough familiarity with all pertinent aspects of the customer?s organizations and their products, policies, and problems.
? Administrative responsibilities include accurate monthly and year-end sales forecasts, SG&A budget control, sales plan development, plus customer, competitor and market share reports.
? Improve business earnings and cash flow through price implementation, cost reduction, volume mix change, plus slow moving inventory and receivable control.
? Assist Sales management training Sales personnel as required.
? Help develop and maintain department operating budget; review department cost reports and performances against operating budget, taking such corrective action as necessary to attain budget objectives.

Specific Profit Enhancement Responsibilities

? Attain and maintain maximum possible selling prices.
? On a selective, strategic basis, add volume with new or existing customers by developing an account business plan to include identifying available volume, competitive strategies and price, plus a recommended action plan to maintain or obtain volume with the applicable margin (P.V.) impact. Continually provide input to form an ongoing strategy in increase usage of metal food containers.
? Insure that appropriate accruals are established with price and contracts in order to avoid swings in monthly and year end business income projections.
? Insure that customers pay invoices within approved credit terms. Maintain a knowledge of customers overall financial condition.
? Lead and assist Technical Service, Customer Service and Manufacturing colleagues in consolidation of product specification and the resultant reduction in operating costs.
? Control selling expense at or below budget.
? Develop and implement shared cost savings on reduced specifications with customers.
? Develop sales channels for obsolete inventory to be kept at zero or minimal levels.
? Minimize inventories and manufacturing changeovers by continually providing accurate forecasts and managing demand.

Essential Job Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelor?s Degree in Packaging, Marketing or Business.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum five (5) years related experience.
GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS: Bilingual - English/Spanish.
