The Director of Areas Sales (DOAS) oversees sales performance and culture of their assigned portfolio. The DOAS leadership is crucial to the total revenue performance for Aimbridge Hospitality. Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

Exempt managers must customarily and regular direct the work of at least 3 Full time associates or their equivalents. Primary duties must consist of administrative executive or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.


At least 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of hotel sales experience.
Supervisory experience required.
Must have a valid drivers license in the applicable state.
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must work well in stressful high pressure situations.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
Must be effective at listening to understanding clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel but which will include a mandatory daily ABR

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include compliance with Aimbridge
Hospitality dress code and wearing a name tag when working (per brand standards).
Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
Attend monthly all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management.
Attend weekly staff meeting and provide training on a rotational basis using steps to effective training according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
Work closely with assigned properties Area Director Director of Regional Sales General Manager and Director of Sales to ensure follow-up sales activities will generate maximum amount of revenue.
Conducts weekly sales activities at area assigned properties including telemarketing cold calls appointments and site tours.
Complete three property visits per week (complete a Sales Visit Recap in Sales Force of any visits over two hours.) within 24 hours of the visit.
Reviews weekly recaps with assigned properties Sales staff and coaches when necessary.
Conducts joint sales calls with sales managers of assigned properties and properties down in revenue goals.
Ensures action items are completed and implements direction given by Director of Regional Sales.
Directs the sales and strategy efforts by following quarterly action plans at assigned properties and properties down in revenue goals.
Assists the Director of Regional Sales as needed with property level sales and marketing efforts.
Prepares and sends weekly sales reports to Director of Regional Sales and copies Area Director.
Communicates weekly activities with Director of Regional Sales as a review of sales efforts and to discuss property level action items.
Supervise the planning scheduling of work and the review and limited approval of tasks of up to 10 team members.
Other duties as assigned.
