Chef - Rockville

Requirements:
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete list of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned. Chef will design and teach an interactive cooking class to mothers and children who will participate in Womenpalante-s initiative. The chef will have a minimum of 15 students up to 25. Participants under her/his wings. He/she will act as an instructor who is responsible for classroom management and the activities.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver logically sequenced and well- Aced lessons appropriate for the academic level and interests of students.
- Present the budget an inventory needs for each class.
- Encourage and sustain student participation for the class.
- Effectively teach skills, including goal- Etting, independent work, collaboration, initiative and self- Advocacy, and organization.
- Submit the lesson, scope activities for the class, and sequence documents to the Program Director for the class.
- Participate in the graduation ceremony of the initiative.
- Provide the class in English/Spanish, depending on the audience.
- Process background check through DCPS Office and present a copy of tuberculosis test and sexual, behavior and other protocols/forms needed from DCPS. This depends on the modality of the class and Womenpalante will inform in advance if this requirement is needed
- Propose and develop an entrepreneurship cooking project for children
- Perform other tasks determined necessary by the Director of the WPP
