The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 musician with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
The Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care, William Beaumont Army Medical Center(WBAMC), Fort Bliss, Texas has a requirement for the non-personal services of an organist/pianist for Protestant and Catholic Religious Worship Services.
This contract includes all functions, tasks and responsibilities normally performed by a Musician. The Musician shall be responsible for providing services as a pianist and organist during weekly Catholic and Protestant Worship Services. The Musician shall perform in an inter-faith setting for congregational music for the Catholic and Protestant services.
Specific Duties:
a) The Musician shall be responsible for providing services as a pianist and organist during weekly worship services for the WBAMC for the Protestant and Catholic Worship Services.
b) The Musician shall be responsible for providing services as a pianist and organist during special events ranging from special religious holidays that do not fall on a Sunday, memorial ceremonies, weddings, and prayer breakfasts/lunches.
Normal Duty Hours:
The Musician is responsible for providing performance/service for three (3)hours during the weekly Catholic and Protestant worship services on Sunday (8:30-9:30a.m. (Catholic),1000-1100a.m. (Protestant) and 1130a.m.-1230p.m. (Catholic). The Musician shall provide performancefor one (1) hour during the weekly Catholic Saturday Mass (5:00-6:00p.m.) The special event may range from special religious holidays that does not fall on a Sunday, memorial ceremonies, weddings, prayer breakfasts and lunches. The Musician shall keep in mind that the stability and continuity of their service are essential.
Estimated Annual Scheduled Activities and Sessions:
Provide piano/organ music for Catholic Sunday/Saturday Worship Services   QTY: 158
(Saturdays 5:00-6:00p.m.) and Sundays (8:30-9:30a.m. & 11:30-12:30p.m.)
Provide piano/organ music for Protestant Worship Services QTY: 53
(Sundays 10:00-11:00a.m.)
Provide piano/organ music for Special Catholic Masses and Protestant Services* QTY: 35

January 1, the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter, the solemnity of the Ascension August 14, day before Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 15, the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary October 31, day before All Saints November 1, the solemnity of All Saints December 8, the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception December 24, day before Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ December 25, the solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ *Memorials, Weddings, Prayer Breakfasts and Prayer Lunches. The musician will be notified of these events at least 1 week in advance for preparation.
The musician shall at all times during the performance of this contract present a neat and well-groomed appearance appropriate to the conditions under which the service is being conducted.
Special Qualifications:
The Musician shall provide a resume displaying an awareness of music and worship styles familiar to both the Roman Catholic Faith and a Traditional Mainline Protestant Worship Service. This can be done through past job experiences listed on resume and/or through the 3 letters of reference/recommendations that will accompany the resume. Failure to provide references/recommendations will eliminate the musician from further consideration for award of this
The resume shall clearly demonstrate the proposed Musician meets the following qualifications:
a. The Musician shall demonstrate a basic knowledge (from his/her resume and references thatare attached) of the Christian Faith (Protestant and Catholic) and be familiar with the traditions/customs of the Christian Church (Protestant and Catholic).
b. The Chief Chaplain, along with the COR will determine which of the candidates will be the best qualified for this contract based on the resume and references submitted for this position.
Interested Candidates are requested to forward their resume together with three references from individuals who can attest to the candidate’s good work and steadiness.  Candidates who do not possess the experience and qualifications referred to in “Special Qualifications” above need not apply.  This is a part-time position with compensation based on budget and the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
