- Recognize various standard winding connections and wind random wound AC stators
- Perform QC winding tests including Hipot, Surge, Inductance, and Resistance
- Effectively document test results and root cause of failure
- Read and understand/interpret winding data sheets
Responsibilities:
- Strip damaged stators and collect relevant winding data information
- Make coils using automatic winding machine
- Prepare stators to receive new coils (slot inspection, cleaning, and insulation)
- Properly insert coils without crossovers or damage to insulation
- Label and install lugs on winding leads
- Complete final electrical connections on stators, including proper insulation and tie down
- Reverse engineer winding data from sample and accurately documents all specifications and connection information
- Understand winding connections
- Effectively illustrate various winding connections
- Troubleshoot winding failures for root cause
