Job Description
The Enterprise Integration Architect is responsible for defining, upholding, and promoting the vision of the IT architecture and solutions that support Integration projects (ESB/EAI). He will be responsible for the overall design, development, testing and implementation of integration solutions and mapping business requirements to systems/technical requirements including both custom developed and COTS configuration/solutions for integration.
This role will be working closely with the Business Relationship Managers, Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers and operational support teams. In particular, it will guide and support the delivery of new IT solutions making sure the integration platform (i.e. MuleSoft) is appropriately used.
The Enterprise Integration Architect works closely with the enterprise data architecture team as their technical partners in all the phases of the integration process from defining and executing proof of concepts and answering any technical questions around the company's service and how it solves the internal client’s data problems.
This position is a Senior Architecture hands-on role within organization aiming at improving ability to grow and thrive in a competitive marketplace. This role is key toward ensuring all the business applications integrate together efficiently to deliver business services.
The Enterprise Integration Architect is responsible for not only ensuring integration portfolio functions reliably, but the role also helps plan for the future state of the application portfolio and the business capabilities it provides.
In addition, the Enterprise Integration Architect will leverage its technical skills and experience to develop cost effective, timely integration solutions that meet functional and performance requirements while focusing on component reuse.
This role may also be involved in pre-sales and post-sales activities to advocate integration with clients’ Information Systems (Open API) as well as supporting implementations and usage of the service by them.

Requirements:

Strong strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to design IT systems interconnection to deliver that strategy
Strong ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
Strong ability to develop integration architecture designs and multiple solution options to business problems
Some background in Utility or equivalent environment

Technical:

Clearly documented hands-on experience implementing Integration systems in large-scale initiatives (MuleSoft, TIBCO, WebMethods, etc.)
Implementation and Development experience in SOA (for e.g., Service Orchestration, Service Choreography, Event Driven Architecture, Messaging middleware, etc.)
Hands on experience designing and developing schemas (e.g., XSD, JSON, AVRO, etc.) and related data structures as well as implementing API centric solutions
Expert understanding in Java/J2EE/.NET, SOA, ESB, Messaging, BPM, BRMS, Event Processing technologies.
In-depth understanding of enterprise integration design patterns, security best practices, communication protocols/techniques and how they align with common business strategies
Ability to decompose a highly customized landscape, analyzes, design, and oversee actual development of such Integration systems.
Strong understanding of network and data center architecture, as well as application development methodologies

Process:

Hands on experience in defining Integration practices including governance, processes, engagement models, toolsets, etc.
Ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive model of Enterprise Integration Architecture (future state architecture, roadmaps, standards, patterns, reference architecture/implementation documents)
Experts in understanding and transforming business requirements into sequence diagrams and scalable/manageable solution architecture and design specifications for Enterprise integration
Design Technical/Integration Architectures (e.g. SOA), including development, runtime and operations architectures leveraging Cloud Services
Design message and event-driven architectures
Create prototypes and authoring detailed interaction specifications
Own integration for integration scenarios across applications, data and processes, as well as code deployment and solution monitoring activities
Review and provide input to test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects to ensure proper coverage of integration activities
Advanced knowledge of SDLC, code management concepts and platforms
Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment

Personnal:

Leadership in creating, maintaining and marketing the architectural vision and direction of integration
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with and make strategic recommendations to senior level management as well as all levels of internal/external service partners
Provide mentoring on advanced development concepts and technical capabilities to developers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform/drive in-depth analysis of systems, data flows processes, and architectural trade-offs
Ability to draw conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members, providing active leadership skills across project team and business community
Ability to partner with other functions across IT (PM, BA, EA, Security, Developers, Operations) to ensure collaboration, consistency, quality and timeliness of solutions
Stay abreast of how Integration technologies are currently impacting and driving competitors and provide recommendations and subject matter expertise regarding industry trends, technology and tools / services

Required Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field; Advanced degree in the aforementioned fields is a plus.
5 - 7+ years implementation experience with demonstrated integration expertise in several business and technical verticals. Minimum 2 years with MuleSoft experience
IT Consulting background preferred
Strong experience in Web Services, Web API's, API management and protocols (REST, SOAP, HTTP, UDP etc.)
Expertise in Enterprise Integration Architecture, SOA, ESB, EDI, file transfer and complex mappings using industry standard integration tools
Hands on and extensive experience in developing integration processes
Experience in Enterprise Service Bus, Cloud Integration and/or MBaaS technologies Experience in Architecture and Design Modeling Tools UML, Code generation
Familiarity with Integration and communication technologies, principles and design patterns (e.g. Experience, Process, System APIs).
Familiarity with advanced integration for IoT/Smart machines (MQTT)
Understanding of two or more industry standard frameworks, including TOGAF, Zachman or FEAF Framework
CMMI, COBIT, ITIL, PMP, SCRUM, Six Sigma, etc. certifications preferred
