Mechanical Engineer IV - Cable Harness
Pasadena, CA
1st shift; 5/40 work schedule
Some Challenges You'll Tackle
Provide engineering expertise to the integration of complex harnesses and represent the harness discipline on a project.
Maintain cognizance of and is responsible for all technical and programmatic aspects of the product being developed and report the status and performance to the appropriate organizations.
Assure the integrity of the harness through integration.
Develop integration plans and engineering to support harness installation onto hardware.
Work with technicians to integrate cables onto hardware.
Investigate and support harness non-conformances through integration.
You must have:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
Experience and knowledge in the following areas:
Detailed design of flight cable harness assemblies.
Preparing and releasing drawings to fabricate and integrate harnesses.
Experience with engineering oversight of fabrication and integration of harnesses on flight hardware
Experience with harness failure investigations
Preferred Skills:
Strong mechanical background
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Detailed and hands-on based knowledge of fabrication processes and workmanship criteria for flight and ground support harness in accordance with D-8208, NASA 8739.4 and SAE AS50881, IPC/WHMA-A-620A.
Familiarity with software tools such as NX, and Microsoft Access.
