Responsibilities

Installs, trouble shoots, adjusts, and maintains mechanical and electrical/electronic HVAC Systems, and their controls. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.


Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs of HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areasPerforms urgent corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs of semi-complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems as requiredAs required, assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspects and tests equipment/systems.Performs preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and associated equipment to comply with all building safety codes and standards. This includes facility equipment and associated controls.Ability to use all hand and power tools deemed necessary to complete the assigned task in a safe manner.Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed for any equipment or systems.Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material.Reads blueprints, interprets instructions, and prepares specifications.Responds to emergency calls in an expedient manner.Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance are completed on the day assigned unless otherwise specified.
QualificationsRequired Licensure and CertificationsValid AR Driver's License and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Requirements.Required Education for Staff Job LevelsHigh School Diploma or GEDRequired
Minimum ExperienceMinimum of four (4) years of experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting and correcting diverse HVAC service issues Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work with a variety of peopleAbility to communicate effectivelyEntry level computer skillsAn advanced knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (i.e. p/t charts, refrigerant gauges, and evacuation pumps)Proper handling and disposal of refrigerantKnowledge of multi-meter use (i.e. ohm/resistance, capacitance, farad, temperature, amps, and continuity)PREFERRED Education and/or ExperienceTechnical or trade school training preferredEqual Opportunity
