JOB DESCRIPTION

The Automation Engineer will work with the Development and QA Teams to understand the business and system requirements and test scenarios respectively, related to the applications to build or modify the automation framework. This individual will be responsible for maintaining these frameworks by following the current standards along with coordinating test execution, training users and providing user support.

Responsibilities

Work with the Development Team to create reusable Cucumber Step Definitions for Web componentsExtend and maintain Test Automation Frameworks for Web applicationsMaintain the functional test portion of the Continuous Integration Pipeline in JenkinsResearch, identify, and implement new test automation technologiesTroubleshoot application issues and report technical findings to developmentDebug API tests maintained in JavaDebug UI tests maintained in JavaScript

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field4 or more years of overall experience in testing Web Applications2 or more years of experience in JavaScript1 or more years of experience in ES6. Experience with TypeScript is a plus2 or more years
of experience in developing test automation for Single-Page Applications (SPA)Experience in using a debugger for JavaScript codeExperience using Chrome DevTools to review page definition, network activity, and page performanceAutomation experience with open source automation tools such as Puppeteer, Jest/Enzyme, Cucumber is a plus2 or more years of experience in developing test automation of RESTful APIs using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, Karate2 or more years of SQL experience1 or more years of Java experience is a plusKnowledge of test technology trends and Web frameworks/tools (React, Angular, NodeJS, etc.)Ability to diagnose application issues (reviewing applications logs, reviewing server stats, etc.)Experience working in a continuous integration environmentSolid understanding of software testing practicesExperience working on a team with commitment to ensuring the team succeedsExcellent communication skills
