MISSION STATEMENT The First Tee of Greater New Orleans is a youth serving agency whose mission is to positively impact the lives of New Orleansárea young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill lifeenhancing values, and promote healthy choices, through the game of golf. In order to achieve this mission, we conduct year round outofschool time programming for New Orleansárea youth at our partner golf facilities throughout the área.
JOB SUMMARY The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the full program team to develop and deliver a yearround outreach programming schedule to our entire service área, including ongoing support to partnering schools in our National School Program Network. This position involves leading and assisting the program team with a variety of tasks ranging from Currículum creation to marketing to database management to assisting with the development of new programs.
The Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and support of inschool programming, planning and coordinating special event participation and school engagement opportunities, including our STEM Links field trip program.
The Outreach Coordinator will also participate in The First Tee Coach Training program and will conduct outofschool time programs at local golf facilities.
REPORTING STRUCTURE The Outreach Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Lead the creation, delivery, and oversight of outreach, inschool programs, and special events Recruit new schools and support PE teachers, site leaders, and others involved with programming Create and implement daily, seasonal, and annual lesson plans and sequence progressions to be used in outreach and inschool programming Distribute and manage program equipment and supplies to program partners as necessary Transition outreach participants and partners into afterschool and open enrollment programming Collect, enter, and manage participant data relevant to outreach, NSP, and DRIVE Create and implement field trips and special events, including the Champion's Challenge and Stem Links Increase community awareness by identifying and representing TFTGNO at program partner events Develop and distribute promotional and transition materials for outreach, NSP, and DRIVE programs Maintain existing relationships and enroll new NSP, DRIVE, and outreach program partners Perform other related duties as may be assigned, including leading afterschool or weekend Life Skills Experience classes
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required in Education, Health, Recreation or similar field of study, with special priority given to candidates with Sciencerelated field of study Adherence to the standards of conduct, values, and involvement established by The First Tee. Appreciation for young people, the game of golf and its inherent life lessons, education, and public service. Personality conducive to working with young people, as well as leading adults. Strong verbal and written communication skills with groups, personal initiative, and leadership ability. Proficiency in MS Office. Must have reliable transportation.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE Coordinatorlevel salary $30$40K commensurate with experience, monthly health insurance stipend and paid holidays and vacation time. Flexible work schedule. Paid training/professional development opportunities and reimbursement for local travel provided.
