This position reports to the Vice President of Research Growth Strategy. This person will work closely with Research senior leadership, as well as with other departments in the firm, including Research Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Partner Success, Partner Engagement, Talent Management, Design Strategies and Solutions, and Operations. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in product innovation, sales enablement, and commercial strategy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The Senior Director serves as primary liaison to Research commercial teams to develop and execute on content campaigns and sales and renewal strategies for a portfolio of higher education research and advisory services. They will provide high-level strategic support to the Vice President, ensuring that she has the full range of data and information, as well as the situational nuances, to allow for effective decision-making related to commercial performance, prospect and partner feedback, competitive context, and product positioning. Additional key responsibilities include contributing to new product and service innovation, including developing the internal systems and processes to measure and evaluate the success of pilot projects and the internal systems and processes to scale successful pilots across the organization. In all projects and tasks, this individual will be asked to provide strategic leadership and managerial input by facilitating issue identification and resolution, problem-solving and decision-making.

Because of the broad nature of the Senior Director role, a successful candidate will need to operate effectively both within established organizational lines as well as the grey space of daily decision-making and influencing. In other words, nuance and seeing beyond the surface of things is important. A strong intellect and self-confidence coupled with high emotional intelligence and empathy is critical.

Specific Responsibilities:

Commercial Product Strategy and Support:

Work with Research and Commercial leadership to set and execute against business priorities
Serve as a senior liaison between sales, marketing, account management, delivery, and product teams
Develop and deliver internal training and education sessions for product, delivery, and commercial teams
Provide effective onboarding and training programs for product marketing, sales, and account representatives
Create content collateral and Scripting to use with marketing, sales, and account management teams
Gather and relay feedback to continuously iterate on EAB Research strategy
Partner with marketing, delivery, and product to develop and continuously refine buyer personas and partner journeys
Assist the EAB RFP team with vetting and crafting responses to requests for information or proposals that can be addressed by Research services

Product Innovation:

Collaborate with the Research Growth Strategy team to

develop and test new products and services in response to prospect and partner feedback, external market factors, and analysis of internal data
Develop systems and processes to evaluate new product and delivery pilots, collaborate on scaling successful innovations, and partner with commercial and product leadership to maximize the commercial benefit and partner value of new ideas
Participate in regular Research Growth Strategy product ideation sessions, competitive intelligence gathering, and market listening activities

People Leadership and Communication:

Represent the Vice President of Research Growth Strategy in certain settings and situations; highly skilled communicator and active listener with an understanding of and ability to respond to different, sometimes competing, needs and perspectives
Collaborate closely with leaders across the business to understand and respond to evolving prospect and partner needs
Set agendas for and manage next steps from key leadership team meetings

Project and Dashboard Management:

Identify and implement new processes and reporting to increase department and team effectiveness and efficiency
Manage special projects and initiatives that are critical to improving business performance specifically within the Research Growth Strategy vertical
Oversee key initiatives and provide oversight and guidance to other high importance, cross-department projects as needed

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 8-10 years post-Bachelor's work experience
Internal candidates must be able to demonstrate a record of achievement within the firm
Demonstrated strong project management and planning skills in complex environments
Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
Exceptional attention to detail
Discretion in handling sensitive firm, department and individual performance information
Demonstrated interest in process improvement, department-wide strategy and operations, revenue management, and training and development strongly encouraged
