What You Will Be Doing

The Senior Database Developer position will require a forward-thinking and innovative individual with a passion for the work, the ability to think at a high level and contribute to the evolution of the enterprise data and business intelligence solutions. The candidate should have advanced skills for working within operational and data warehousing systems. This person will work collaboratively on a wide variety of database, business intelligence, reporting and application development projects in an Agile environment.

Principle Duties:
Determine business requirements, design and implement complex data models.
Create logical models, build physical models and create databases from the ground up.
Analyze SQL code and develop/alter stored procedures, triggers, SSIS packages, and SQL jobs where appropriate.
Work on data migration projects to build migration scripts that integrate with on premise and external applications.
Collaborate with the application development team and ensure that overall application design is optimal.
Design, implement and operate database systems for scalability, extensibility, performance and reliability.
Design, implement and maintain data warehouses using the SQL Server toolset.
Develop Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes from multiple data sources.
Develop, design and maintain reports using SSRS.
Manage the support of multiple application systems and their databases.

What You Need for this Position

At least 4 years database development experience with Microsoft SQL Server with an understanding of database server architectures.
Good knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design
Experience in data modeling and database design with knowledge of SQL Server best practices.
Ability to develop and debug complex stored procedures, functions and triggers in T-SQL.
Strong in performance tuning complex queries and procedures with excellent understanding of indexing strategies.
SSIS for ETL and SSRS for report generation.

Knowledge of big data, data warehousing and business intelligence architecture.
Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Lean, Kanban) is a plus.
Familiarity with data modeling, reporting and analytical tools such as Erwin, Tableau, Excel and other relevant specialized systems.
